Laphroaig Platinum 1989, 22 YO, Douglas Laing, 58.5%, B: 2011. Refill sherry. 207 bottles.
Colour: gold.
Nose: Peaty, maritime, smoky, on seaweeds, graphite, some light farmy notes of manure. Intense, dry and slightly tarry.
Taste: Oaky, slightly soapy, maritime, slightly round, with some fish, tar, peat, seaweeds, charcoal, and sea shells. The finish is long, dry, peaty, maritime, with lots of seaweeds and rather tarry notes.
Impression: A rather dry, round and peaty Laphroaig, with pronounced maritime and seaweeds flavours. The influence of the sherry is not very noticeable.
Rating: 16/20 FP: C7

Sicuramente questa notizia non mi aiuterà a "piazzare" le bottiglie di douglas Laing ma la rilancio lo stesso (al cuor non si comanda) :

Ieri il Dott. Rossi (Fabio Rossi) di W&M mi ha detto che ha in "gestazione" un Laphroaig ex-sherry di 21 anni che lui giudica : "una bomba".
Dovrebbe uscire a Luglio, quindi conoscendo come vanno di solito queste cose sarà disponibile a Settembre.
Sicuramente il rapporto qualità-prezzo sarà di tutto rispetto.

PS : Anche un Laphroaig 13 yo, edizione Limitata a 50%

E' un periodo in cui il Laphroaig ex-sherry è proposto da diversi imbottigliatori indipendenti: Dewar Rattray propone un 13 yo (69 € + spedizione).
