Si parla spesso di Port Ellen maltings e di come (quasi) tutte le distillerie di Islay acquistino lì il malto
per il loro fabbisogno....Ma...e gli altri? Da chi si riforniscono le altre distillerie in giro per la Scozia?...

Il malto (come l'orzo) è una commodity ... quindi si compra dove costa meno
E' chiaro che se hai una malteria nel gruppo tendi ad acquistare lì.
Ma sorpresa, quante malterie ci sono in Scozia? Questa è una tra le mappe più aggiornate.

Aggiungo, anche se non ho evidenza, che ci sono anche grossi malting fuori da UK (qualcuno di sicuro serve, ad esempio, Chichibu, Puni, ecc).
